i have to write a paragraph about why, in quadratics, you put e.g. 2x^2 + 3x + 6 = 0, instead of anything else like 2x^2 +6 = -3x
I know it seems obvious but im just stuck here! Help please!

Without getting into the graphing explanation, the simplest reason I have is that you can find X using the quadratic equation if the equation is in the form ax^2 + bx + c = 0. You set the equation equal to zero so it matches the form and then you can use the quadratic equation to find X.

hehehe...funny situation here...but the thing is..dat NE given quadratic equation is of da basic form of: ax^ + bx + c= 0. although the same thing can be written as ax^ + bx= -c....the original form of the equation is ax^ +bx+c=0....so however weird the equation may seem...it can ultimately be simplified to the form of ax^+bx+c=0...hope this solves ur doubt

If you set it to zero, you find the vertical intercept.... where the curve/line, etc. intercepts the Y-axis.
