Cache is just a temporary storage place. For example: Internet Explorer has cache that keeps the web pages and pictures that you have loaded recently in a folder. You can open the folder...just search for Temporary Internet Files.

cahed files are merely a means of temporary storage whereby windows can jump back and forth between recently accessed files. They are a map, if you like, of recent history. They are used much by the internet so if you press the back button on your browser, it goes back to the same screen that you was on previously, including the timestamp. If, for example, you went to your yahoo messages list and deleted one, it is gone. If you then pressed the back button it would be there again. It would not, however, be accessable - after all you have deleted it off the server.
This is similar in fact to cached memory, which is a smell part of your hd that is used as temporary storage by the CPU when the software being run exceeds the amount of memory available in RAM.

yes you can and temporary files are files that are stored from websites, for you (the user) to see the websites, the files or contents of that site most be downloaded somewhere, they go into the temp folder. I normally use a program that i built to get rid of it all but hee are some instructions.
1. Launch IE 6.0 (Internet Explorer)
2. go to tools (which is located on your top mid of ur screen)
when you click on it a drop down menu will appear, go to the very bottom of that menu and you will see internet options click on it
3. you will notice a pop-up box will appear, now look in the middel of that box, you will see 2 buttons "Delete Cookies" and "Delete Files".
4. Click on delete cookies, another pop-up box will appear, skip w/e it says just hit "ok". (cookies are log files made by your browser, these log files contain information concerning the site you just visited, basically information among those guidelines)
5. Now click on delete files, a pop-up box will appear, check the box next to delete all offline content and hit ok.
6. You pc will load, than click on ok again and vuala.
7. if you want to learn the technical way of taking care of this issue add me to your yahoo messenger and i'll break it down 4 ya

cached files are files that have been saved like your history. for instance, if you just went to yahoo then you went to another website. if you hit the back button to go back to yahoo, what is displayed is a cached file. you will notice because the timestamp on yahoos homepage is from when you first were on there. you would have to refresh it to have the current time. i dont know of a way to access cached files other than my example above. you can't really delete them either. hope that helps.
