Are there any places or sites out there that really DO pay you for taking surveys or 'secret shopping'? Not necessarily those- but things that I can do quick online or something to bring in a little extra cash?

No, they are not all scams. My wife and I made a little money doing surveys for a while. I'll email you with the information about the one we used.

KC,

I'm having the same problem. I was looking for something I could do at home (because I have little ones & need the income) & I asked a question on here. I got a lot of answers, and checked out the "data entry" links on some of the pages that others suggested. These links took me to survey sites, so I tried doing it & am still struggling with it.

These surveys either require you to complete certain offers at the end of the survey to get credit for taking the survey (which ususally require you to purchase something, try something, or get a "free" trial of something---all which require a credit card or a paypal account with funds in it). Well, I don't have a credit card. I have a paypal account...but nothing's in it yet. I'm strapped financially right now.

So, I try to do the ones that only payout a buck or two, but then the survey site has to approve (verify) what you have done before they give you credit. THEN, they only payout (where you can get a check or credit to your paypal account) after you reach a certain amount (like $25, $30, or $100). Well, when you're only doing $1 or $2 tasks, it takes FOREVER.

On top of that, they tell you that when you request payment (get paid for the surveys or tasks you have completed), it can take anywhere from 30 days to 8 weeks to get paid. Also, they have you sign up for almost EVERY survey site on the web, and you have a hard time trying to keep track of all of the offers, surveys, or tasks you've completed! Not to mention trying to keep track of how much you have earned with what company on what site!

So, if you get ANY REAL ANSWERS....PLEASE LET ME KNOW TOO. I've been doing this survey thing for about two weeks & haven't gotten far. I'm in the same boat as you are....thanx ~~Toni~~

Not any I'd trust online.

I was contacted once, but someone saying they'd pay me to take a survey (it was a highly technical survey). It took about 25 minutes of phone time, but six weeks later, I got a check for $100. I was a bit surprised.

Never do anything that requires too much personal information or MONEY. Never send money so they will do something to get you money.

some are real. anything that requires money from you first is a scam. also scams are something that goes along the lines of them sending you a check, you cashing the check and sending them the money (the check bounces and funds are taken from you)

i do e-poll.com as something to do when i'm bored. it doesn't rake in any money, or much of it. it goes by points too. so say now i have 3,500 points, i can trade them in for a $5 gift card from one of their listed companies.
but, it takes forever to even get up to 4,000 points. i didn't have to put any money down though, and it's nice to get a little something in the mail. i'm going to wait and rack up a whole lot of points to get a really great gift.

it appears that these secret shopper programs require you to buy a "start-up package" that is very costly. Then you're supposed to set up your own appointments- they don't tell you where to go. You're better off selling Avon or Mary Kay. Or even selling on eBay.

definitely not...you cant get a free gift card without giving your credit card information out one way or the next. there are too many scams to release that type of infomation

Sorry, they are all scams. They just want your personal information so they can sell it to other companies.
