This question has gone four days without an answer. As part of my business, I used to sell and install replacement windows. I have competed with Primax in my geographical area. They are a good example of the "old school" home improvement company in that they are a direct sales company. There are several things you should be aware of when dealing with this type of company.

In my opinion, Primax brand windows are average quality windows and there is nothing inherently wrong with them. They install thousands and thousands of them every year. The crews that install them can be another story altogether. These are usually subcontracted installers, and their attention to detail and eye for quality can vary widely. The quality of the crew that actually installs your windows can sometimes be the luck of the draw. If you see something you do not like, do not hesitate to bring it to their attention. It is easier to have things done to your satisfaction during installation than it is to try to get them back for a service call.

Unfortunately, this company still sells their windows using independent salesmen who work on commission. They get paid according to the price at which they sell the windows. They will attempt to get as much money for the windows as possible. It is not unusual for neighbors with the exact same houses to pay different prices for the exact same windows. The salesmen will get whatever the traffic will bear. The will also do their best to get you to sign a contract when they come to your house to measure your windows and show you the samples. It can be a frustrating experience. In the end, they will usually call you the next day with a better price authorized by the sales manager. It pays to wait them out.

As to the actual price of the windows, there is no way to give you a definitive answer because you have not provided much information. Many factors will have a legitimate effect on the price. They include geographical location, type of existing windows and openings, type and quality of windows you wish to have installed, glass options, grid options, screen options, size of the windows, etc, etc, etc.

In the end, you will have to do your homework. Solicit bids from two or three (more than that will be too confusing) reputable companies. Check out their records with the Better Business Bureau before you sign a contract. Follow up and actually contact local references, visiting and looking at the actual installations if at all possible. Do not automatically take the cheapest price or you are almost sure to be disappointed. Make sure all details are in writing in the contract and keep all of your warranty papers. Do not give any window contractor more than a 10% deposit and do not pay the balance until the job is 100% done to your satisfaction. Once they are paid in full, you lose all leverage and they can be very difficult to get back to finish the job.

I hope this information helps. Good luck.

Do some more searching, run the driver installation(Not all have instalation programs, but on consumer good most do). The see if there was any program to help you. If the scanner software is for a older version of windows then right click the .exe then go in compatability and set the mode.
