I know it will depend on my area, but I am wanting a ballpark figure on how much a 5x5 and 5x10 storage units costs per month.

I have rented storage units for both business and personal use for many years. In my area, a 5' x 5' unit rents for about $35.00 per month. A 5' x 10' unit rents for about $55.00 per month. Rents can vary greatly, even in the same town. A well fenced storage facility that makes use of password protected gates, door alarms, and security cameras will cost more than storage facilities without those features. Best advice is to consult the Yellow Pages and call around your area for prices.

Good luck with your storage problems.

This page gives a pretty good idea of how much storage units cost in different markets with examples by storage unit size in three general market sizes: http://blog.storage.com/storage-101/pricing-of-self-storage/

In smaller markets (between 50,000 and 80,000 residents), a 5x5 will run between $20 and $35. In medium (between 500,000 and 800,000 residents), they run for $33 to $55. In larger markets (like NYC or Chicago), they run for $50 to $85.

About $150-$200. Just don't go to Public Storage or your items will be missing. There is an investigation going on with them few months ago. Just an FYI.
