Forget it. It will never happen. This is one of those red herring newspaper reports that has no substance.
1. First, do you think that in the climate of today, any uk government is going to allow purchase of alcohol over the internet - let alone tax free alcohol? This would be heaven for under age drinkers.
2. Do you really think any British - or European Government is going to let go of the billlions and billlions in annual revenue from tax on these items? No way - and ask in return for what, why?
Sorry to burst your bubble - but don't hold your breath waithing for this :)

i see no genuine reports to say this [ duty free online ]
i see no way this is even possible
duty free is a TRAVEL SHOP to bring prices more level between countries that you TRAVEL to or from
each country has a travel ZONE
from u.k. this is 3 miles offshore as we are close to other countries--- others vary
we have taxes that other countries do not and this makes our tobacco and alcohol very expensive --- is called duty --- remove this tax [ duty free ] is far cheaper --- but not possible from a u.k. home i think --- luv to see it though

I must say I doubt if anything will come of this. We have been exporting smokes from South Africa into the UK for 6 years now (www.smokes.co.za)... with very little interference from our friends at customs. So... what’s the big deal?

if you search long enough you will find a few internet sites of ppl in spain willing to send cigs of course as a smoker and law abiding citizen i cant recommend any but look long and hard
