Your sentence is good as it is. The only word I would question is "also". (I'm guilty of over-using it also!!) I would remove it if it isn't necessary to the meaning of the sentence. Best of luck.

No, it is not run on or too long and awkward. Just fine as it is.

It will not be a run on if after "Nation" you delete the comma and insert "which is"
