The best thing I have found for bruises is Vick's Vapor Rub. If you smooth it on and let it absorb the bruises will not hurt. They will still go through the color changes but will not be painful.

one stop bending for them have them bend for you so you can bam them in the butt, and second sit on some ice to help the swelling go down.
