Failure doesn't exist (although we do everything to make believe it does). What we think of as failure is simply success not quite achieved yet.

Difficulty can be present at any time, no matter where we are. Or at no time, no matter where we are.

If you are talking about the outcome then there are lessons to learn from both.
Failure can be crushing and disheartening, but if you step back and take a look at what you did wrong and what could be learned, and use this knowledge, you can someday turn that failure into a success. So failure isn't the end of the world (it just feels like it is)
If you take no risks because you are afraid to fail, that is a failure in itself. And this has no good consequences because there is no specific lesson to learn.
Success feels great, but you need to beware complacency. You still have to keep working even after you succeed. You are not "done" just because you had one thing go well for you. There is always much to learn and much to improve. That can be wonderfully challenging or terrifying.

but either way, you will have to learn to deal with both successes and failures.

Failure is more difficult to accept. But a lot of times, success is more difficult to achieve, because you have to keep working/changing through the failures to reach success, and not give up.

In my experience failure has more difficulty.
Success usually comes from following ones talents and interests (like for example a runner), and excellence develops to which people are attracted and success follows.
Failure often happens when circumstances beyond the persons control (like an accident or injury) that impairs future activity in our area of interest, so that you no longer get that satisfaction and may be forced to do something else that you have no real interest in.

hmmm... this one's a toughie. but i'd go for success because to be successful takes a lot of hard work, persistance and determination and if you are not able carry that out through and maintain it throughout, then problems will arise. but of course you'll eventually resolve them in one piece. for me and speaking from personal experience, failure is something that i have been burdened with on a number of occasions when i was young. i've got used to failing and screwing things up and doing so very easily. but as i got older, things do change overtime; nowadays i feel just as much likely to doing the best i can and be the best person i can be, as i do in making mistakes. the thing with success also is that it is something that people feel the need to aspire to. to become a success or successful at something takes patience, time and effort. you have to be really motivated and eager to work to your strengths and to work to the best of your potential. therefore, i'd go for success.

Success because you have to learn from mistakes and failures to get to success.

Failure, though hard to swallow, can spur one into achieving the best or it can lead to unbearable humiliation. Failure is the precursor of success, for it is through making mistakes that we sometimes achieve our goals.

I don't think about stuff like that. I just keep going through life coping the best way I can with whatever hits me next. Why debate it, we'll all have to cope with a bit of both anyway.
