It's so easy to save a life. Just show up at a blood donor session, sit back and share a pint (of blood).
Seriously though if you are in good health theres no reason not to one donation would take about an hour. Im sure everyone can spare 3 hours a year to help save 3 lives it makes a big difference.

Its not really blackmail! lol You can even think of it like this. The more people you get to give blood the bigger chance there is that their will be blood for you if you ever need it!

"I hope you do it too, and don't just tell others to do it."
Yes I do! I just did my 3rd donation last week. Im only 20 though I would have started earlier but kept putting it off, but I just thought I would let people know how easy it is and how important it is.

Yes, you're absolutely right.
My husband and I can't give blood because of earlier health problems, but my (grown up) children do.
Even the youngest, who is TERRIFIED of needles. She does it because other donors saved her dad's life.

A friend was a nurse and used to give blood. Then she had an op and blood, and later learned the blood had not been screened for vCJD, so not only is she forbidden to give blood, she's living with the knowledge that she just might develop vCJD herself. It's the same with Hep C etc. I've got antibodies to liver and thyroid tissue so it's better that I don't pass this on.
I'm just waiting for the JWs to get in on this Q though. I hope you're braced for that with some simple logic, like, Why do you treat the symbol for life (blood) as more sacred than life itself?

I once went to provide blood yet i did not weigh adequate so that they does not enable me. when you consider that then, the time & area of the blood donor centre is only too inconvenient for me - i'm both at artwork or waiting for my children living house from college. although, I doubt no matter if or not they might have my blood now besides. I do weigh adequate, yet I have a low white blood count number, my haemaglobin has also been low those days & I have had such lots of blood exams over the perfect 2 a million/2 years that i understand they oftentimes have project getting any out besides!

I have given blood and I probably will again. Right now though, I don't have enough food to eat so giving blood will make me sick. :( I'll do it when I can though. I hope you do it too, and don't just tell others to do it.
Ophelia said something similar to her brother Laertes: "...show me not the hard and thorny path..." something like that. It's from Shakespear's "Hamlet"

I'm gutted.....my blood isn't good enough. They put a drop of my blood in liquid and it didn't sink. Basically I'm anaemic and no matter what they do it keeps coming back. So when my bloods good enough for me I will share it.

They won't accept mine - I've had cancer.
Before they wouldn't let me give blood because I didn't weigh enough.
