Hey so sorry about whats happening. Your wife should still take the pregnancy test. Even if she is having a miscarraige the test will still be positive the hormone levels can remain high for a week after all tissue has passed. Obviously the doctor will be able to give you more information. I miscarried at 7 weeks and had much the same symptoms as your wife, I was in extreme pain, very heavy bleeding. I heard that if you are soaking more than 1 pad per hour then you should go to your emergency room, so definetly keep an eye on that.
Good luck for your appointment tomorrow hopefully it will just be a late (and heavy) period, my thoughts will be with you.

I had a miscarriage around 5 weeks pregnant. My period was a week late and I took a test and it was positive-I started to miscarry 3 days later:(It was very heavy bleeding-much more so then my regular period, bad cramping in stomach and back and lots of clots passed-some of which was tissue. It was the worst time in my life-I still think about it quite alot.Thankfully I have been blessed with a beautiful boy after that and am expecting #2 in February.I don't take pregnancy for granted after what happened!

I done the same when I was just about 6 weeks pregnant. I had a lot of tissue in my bleeding and then in July I was admitted into the hospital for heavy bleeding my body was attempting an abortion from stress and everything. I am still carrying my baby and it is healthy and fine. the doctor said that the tissue that was in my blood when I was 6 weeks was from the left over of my first pregnancy and my body was just clearing it out.

The same thing happened to me. They say that it's called an early miscarriage. It's about a week or two after your normal scheduled period doesn't appear - and it's a very heavy period like w/ tissue and clots. What happens (in some cases) is that the embryo doesn't implant correctly. Goodluck and sorry for your loss.

It is entirely possible that what she is having is a miscarriage... Watch her semicarefully as there is a very small change of hemmorage with a miscarriage... Make sure she eats some iron rich foods
liver
lean red meats, including beef, pork, lamb
seafood, such as oysters, clams, tuna, salmon, and shrimp, etc.
beans, including kidney, lima, navy, black, pinto, soy beans, and lentils
iron fortified whole grains, including cereals, breads, rice, and pasta
greens, including collard greens, kale, mustard greens, spinach, and turnip greens
tofu
vegetables, including broccoli, swiss chard, asparagus, parsley, watercress, brussel sprouts
chicken and turkey
blackstrap molasses
nuts
egg yolks
dried fruits, such as raisins, prunes, dates and apricots
With the extra blood loss you want to protect against anemia (low iron levels)..
As for her being upset it's ok she has every right to be upset and so do you.. having a misscarriage feels like you have been jipped.. it's a lose for both of you.. Get her some flowers or another smalll token of your love for her.. Tell her you know how much this is upsetting her and understand make sure to let her know its upsetting you as well..
Offer to accompany her to the Dr. tommorrow she may need a bit of moral support if you find out it was indeed a miscarriage.. Plan on spending some alone time just the two of you so you have a bit of time to grieve for your lose before rushing right back into your everyday lives...
I know it took me about a week to work through all the feelings when I had a miscarriage, it helped that my husband was there to listen to me whine and cry and be upset and that he tod me he was upset too... I felt less alone in it because he voiced what i already knew he was upset too.. We got through it by working together to work through the feelings and you will too..
Good Luck...
P.S. Carnations in her favorite color will be long lasting... Or a seasonal bouquet is always nice...

Really the only i can tell you is keep your fingers crossed, if the tissue is about the size of a quarter, she should see her doctor ASAP or even go the emergency room. Hope everything is ok.

Your wife probably had a miscarriage.
Blood clots, tissues, backpain, heavy bleeding, are all symptoms of a miscarriage.

states Miscarriage as the spontaneous loss of pregnancy before 24 completed weeks of gestation (also referred to as abortion). It is further classified as complete, incomplete, inevitable, missed, recurrent or habitual, septic, spontaneous, threatened and tubal miscarriage. Stillbirth is the birth of a baby , after 24 weeks' gestation, that shows no signs of life. Intrauterine fetal death/ demise (IUFD) is the fetal death when it occurs after the 20th week of pregnancy. It is considered a miscarriage when a fetal death occurs in the first 20 weeks. The mother's health is usually not in danger. Usually, there is nothing that can be done to prevent it. From this explanation, we can say that miscarriage and abortion are synonymous and mean the one and the same thing. Besides, McGraw-Hill Medical Dictionary for Allied Health, describes Miscarriage as spontaneous loss of wombs contents before the middle of the second trimester. Also called spontaneous abortion. It also describes Abortion as ending of pregnancy before or after the death of a fetus; may occur spontaneously as in miscarriage or may be induced. From the latter, we can conclude and say that Miscarriage is the same as Spontaneous abortion.
