Hello,
When my twins were born preemies at 32 weeks, they came home right before Thanksgiving. My hubby and I did not give a speech per se, but we did bow our heads and say a very thankful pray to our Jesus for creating such beautiful and healthy babies who have 10 fingers, 10 toes, 2 hands, 2 feet, beating hearts, strong lungs, functioning livers and kidneys, 2 eyes, 2 ears, a nose, 2 arms, 2 legs.
My hubby and I had our prayers answered and our precious twins were born early, but very healthy.
If that is not a good speech, I do not know what is.
Hope this helps you........................ :-)

Maybe you could just do a toast instead? Once everyone is seated and they all have their meals and such, just stand up and clink your fork against your glass and propose a toast to the new addition. You could say something like "We would all like to welcome Sandy's and Mike's new baby to our family. Here's to Baby Abigail!" and then everyone drinks to her health. Obviously, just replace the real names for the ones I put, lol.
Good luck!

I wouldn't. Thanksgiving is about being together and being thankful, not giving speeches.

Not sure. Is it your baby or someone elses? If it's yours, I don't really think it's appropriate. If it's someone elses, then just say something like "..and something else we're very thankful for is the new addition to our family.." and then go from there. Hope that helped :-)
