He forgot to get her something for Valentine's day. They never set a date for their wedding shows lack of commitment on his side.

He doesnt like listening to her talk. When Jan said their was a design intern program Jim encouraged Pam to go for it and Roy was like no. He left her at a hockey game or something for one of their first dates, never listens to her.

There is a lack of communication which is why he makes a comment to Jim on how its good that Pam talks to him all day about her problems so when she comes home, he's spared. He thanks Jim for that.
