Sometimes it takes years for a woman to get her menstural cycle to work like a clock. If you have not been sexually active then don't worry. If it does continue then go see your doctor about it, but it is pretty normal.
Good Luck To You :)

Stress can do it for any woman whether teenager or adult. Also weight can be a factor as well. If a teenager is too skinny or too over weight it can throw off the normal menstruation cycle as well. Many other things too can play a role in a woman missing their periods. Your best bet is to go see your family doctor and he or she may advise you to see a gynecologist. A gynecologist is a person who knows all about the female organs and can tell you what is going on inside of you by doing some tests.
Good luck to you and I hope you get the answers to which you seek!

Stress and involvement in sports can put a strain on the body and cause missed or irregular periods. Also, many teenagers bodies aren't fully in sync yet and can have irregular periods for the first few years.

Well did this teen just start her period? If so her body maybe just kinda figuring itself out it should regulate. If not is the teen healthy ? Having a low body weight could cause this problem to. I think she needs to see her gynecologist. If it doesn't start soon.

Stress, too skinny, extremely atheletic. Also, your cycle maybe hasn't found it's rhythm yet (some never do) this could make your periods erratic

Stress or diet issues. A lot of gymnasts don't get one because they don't have enough body fat. I miss mine when I am extreamlly stressed out.
