Westend and Deep Ellum.
Westend for the restaurants and there is a movie theater and an arcade.
Deep Ellum for the clubs, The Lizard Lounge(My Fave), DNA (It's Alright), and more.
Also, if you go to Oak Lawn there is a place called Pappadeaux Seafood Kitchen that has great Cajun food (if you are into it). Everything on the menu is great but you have to try the praline cheesecake if you like cheese cake with the praline sauce that comes with it and a side of bourbon sauce.
Then there is the whole in the wall taco joints. Most of they don't really have a name but, look pretty much a hole in the wall at a gas station that sales tacos and you will not be disappointed.

The West End and Downtown have good restaurants and clubs. That's about it as far as fun in Dallas, unless you want to go to an amusement park like Six Flags. It pretty much sucks here. Tons of traffic, congestion, smog, and lots of crimes of all kinds.

Fun at the Magic Time Machine, Old Monk is good pub, thursday night at the Old Crow, hang out at the double wide
