When I bring up a news articles with a picture a lot of times the picture doesn't display?

It might be that your connection timed out or the picture is on a server that is experiencing high load and so your request is denied. Although that wouldn't make sense because you're getting the news story. If you are using a computer that has netnanny or web sense some of those pictures are blocked by those programs.
