What do you think about Goths?

As I am a Goth, I was just wondering about your views on Goths. Do you like them better than Chavs?

I'm a goth girl and i find it really interesting when these questions are put up.

The perceptions that people have of goths seem to vary but are also very similr. A lot seem to think that being a goth is about rebellion, i tend to disagree. Personally, i'm a goth just because it is who i am, I have an eye for the darker things in life and i love my clothes! It seems to me that people automatically think that we are "rebeling against the system" just beacuse we act and look a bit different but isn't everyone an individual,

Any way, that's not the point of this question. Goths are cool and chavs can be cool, we just all have a different view of the world and ourselves and i think we should just be happy and respect each others way of life.

I like them. They have a deep side to them and that's what I see as making them different. They're usually quite talented and have a good humorous side. I'm not sure what a Chav is, I've never heard that term before so it must be something new, sounds like a dumb term though if you ask me.

You know...I'll have to be blunt with you. I looked at your other questions, 2 of which you asked "which group am I in" and then proceeding to ask if you're Goth, Punk, Emo, etc...Wouldn't you already know if you know you're Goth? Is it really up to others on the internet to decide your path in life? It seems rather that you have likes and interests in one culture and you have to get the opinion of others to comfort you in knowing if you're really in that culture. If you were a true Goth...you would know. Just putting it out there...

I don't know what chavs are, but as for goths, i don't really understand it bu I'm ok with it.I don't see why people would want to wear a lot of black clothing. I like colors, the brighter the better. I think gothic people look mean and like they don't want to be talked too, but I know some who are very nice. I also know some who don't want contact. Its more about the person on the inside, if you are proud and happy people can tell. how you choose to dress could change, but you will always be you.

its an individual form of expressionism. i havent got a problem with anyone tbh. im a rocker and have been since i was a kid, i have never had problems from goths or with them. however chavs on the other hand are threatening disorderly and have a terrible dress sense. if they have any gripes about goths or rockers at least we dont buy cheap jewelrry to try and make ourselves look rich. i dont care what anyone wears tbh clothes are clothes but chavs really annoy me.

I am a rocker and dressed the part when i was younger. Many of my mates were goths so i have nothing against them at all. Live and let live I say. I even liked some of the music, in fact I still listen to Fields of the Nephilim and The Sisters of Mercy.

i love attractive goths by which i mean sleek sinewy creatures who DO NOT wear great clodhopping boots!
i know i may offend some here but to me a goth and the slightest hint of an excess pound of blubbery flesh are as inconceivable as count dracula having garlic and onion soup for breakfast!
a fat goth is acontradiction in terms: its like talking about a black hole without gravity.
they are a million miles above chavs on the evolutionary ladder.
show me a picture of yourself online and ill rate you on a scale of 1-10. i might even invite you out for dinner!

I've never had a goth come up and threaten me in the street - probably because they can't be bothered :o) (joke)

I prefer Goths to Chavs anyday !!!

Chavs are really in your face and think it their birth right to intimidate others Goths tend to keep themselves to themselves.

I don't have an opinion one way or the other...surely all goths are different...one needs to be more specific. Preferable to Chavs? It would depend on the person.

I think every person. Has the right to express them selfs the way they want to. So if your happy being a Goth then be a Goth. And don't give it up because someone you know does not approve of it.
