wolves rely on their instincts more than dogs for example if you look a Wolf in the eyes that is a challenge and allot of the time they will attack if they do not consider you the pack leader ....wolves cannot get rid of the urge to mark their territory every time they leave and come back so keeping them inside would be a smelly situation....they are overly protective of their food they will bite if you move toward them while they are eating....i could just go on and on but i think you get the point .......people think wolves make good pets but they don't unless you know what you are getting into and have the knowledge to take care of them.......there are wolf rescue facilities allover the world they rescue wolves from people who thought they would be good pets and later found out they weren't....they definitely would not be good for someone who lives in city limits or ever wants to have children wolves are not domestic animals like dogs are and can be dangerous.

i have 3 dogs and 1 wolf mix. Zeus is younger than the rest, but he seems to pick up on what we want a little quicker. i think he has a bigger memory. his loyalty seems a little less than the others, but it could be that he's young. he's almost 3, but won't reach full maturity until almost 5. so he's slower to mature than the avg. dog. physically as well as mentally. wolves and hybrids should never be around small children. it's their instinct to destroy the weak. i have to lock mine up when my friend brings her 4 yr old daughter over. Zeus is face to face with her and pops his teeth at her. we also can't leave him unsupervised with the cats. and when the cats are gone, if Zeus is still with us, there won't be anymore cats. he has a typical wolf tail and his overall body structure is more wolfish. his eyes are completely shaped like a wolf. you can't use the same training method as with a dog. i did ALOT of research before i decided on Zeus, and i still find myself asking for advice from the LOKI CLAN REFUGE here in NH

dogs&wolves are very similar, but very different.dogs want to please owners because the owner is the alpha.wolves will fight until one is wounded, dead,or surrenders.dogs like to chase things-wolves chase it and kill it.many other differences and similarities-but basically thee domestic dog is a fine tuned wolf.
