WOW....good question. Overrated player for my money is Michael Vick. Untill he can win consistently with his arm, he is not a top-tier QB. Six years from now, he won't be able to outrun everyone in the league...he'll have to have good decision-making skills and accuracy in order to succeed, and I haven't seen that from him.
Underrated player...Rod Smith....there are several to pick from....but although Rod has been a great receiver for many, many years...he has never garnered the acclaim or respect a player of his stature should. But if you poll DB's around the league, they'll tell you how professional and talented RS really is.

Overrated: Grossman, not that he's terrible, but he's mediocre at best and he's getting way too much attention for a guy who's thrown 11 int's and has a 83.6 passer rating.
Underrated: Phillip Rivers, he's a first year starter who's carrying a 100.4 passer rating, a 66.4 completion percentage, and he's only thrown 3 ints. As far as QB's this year, I'd only put Manning ahead of him (yes, I'd be willing to say he's playing better than Brady this year.)

Overrated player: Chad Johnson. he hasnt done anything this year.
Underratted: i've got to give this to Lance Briggs for the Bears. the guy is in Uralachers shadow. he had 1 less tackle then Urlacher last year, and Lach got the D player of the year. Adam Vinitary is also one of those guys you dont think of when you think overated. These 2 guys dont talk, they just show up and do there job.

Overrated - Jake Plummer. I remember hearing how he would be in the top echelon of quarterbacks this year under Shanahan's tutelage.
Underrated - Terry Glenn. Everyone hypes on TO in Dallas and you rarely hear about the #1 WR in big D.

Well, the most recent media poll showed Urlacher as the most over rated....but I am NOT buying that! Over rated would have to be Daunte Culpepper, the guy is washed up, given chance after chance and he gets beat out by Joey Harrington. Come on!!! OVER RATED!
Under rated, this is a reach but I am going with Terrell Owens, the guy is awesome, and everyone wants to get on his case because they don't like his attitude...WHATEVER, the guy can play! He is the best WR in the game and people need to realize that!
