I started shaving my underarms a few months back because of the odor and shirt seams always pulling the hair and I really like the neatness except for the stubble. Is shaving almost every other day now common with you girls or would waxing be better for a longer effect?

It's not a bad thing if you shave under your arms. On the contrary, it shows that you like to keep a healthy appearance. If the urge to shave is because of the odor then go ahead and shave. You would be less comfortable with a girl if you have that constant odor under your arms. If you don't like the shaving done regularly let the hair grow a bit and then start trimming once in while so that you don't feel that stinging sensation. You can always top this with some anti-perspirant deodorant or a roll-on if you sweat a lot.

I wouldn't suggest waxing because it might have a burning sensation on your skin as you already shave. Also, when you shave continuously the hair grows quicker because it gets stronger. So it's not easy to have such a long effect if you switch to waxing because the hair might still grow quickly...I think waxing might only leave you with a burning sensation.

So, shave those underarms, boy! No harm in that :)

Keeping the hair in the pit causes it to smell more. That hair holds smell. This is y women shave, not just b/c it looks gross to have a bush under ur arm. So a man shaving the arms is fine. Waxing hurts. Im not bold enough to wax the underarms. It does last longer and the sweat isnt so bad either. I found that was interesting too! I shave everyday in summer and every other day in winter. I dont like the underarm look for me. But yes shaving does help with the odor. So kudos to you for shaving.

Actually, I was just looking at an article in a magazine just today that talked about hair removal. Because of the sensitivity of the underarms, and how firmly the roots are held in that location, waxing is not recommended. Aside from shaving, a recommended alternative is laser hair removal. That might be something you can look into.

shaving the pits is an every OTHER day routine for me. I think waxing would be too expensive in the end. If you want lasting effects use a hair remover like nair or veet it burns a little but gets below the skin.

Most girls shave every day or every other day. It's a laborious task. Waxing is a good idea. It makes the hair grow back finer. Prepare for a bit of pain though.

I've never waxed under my arms because it's really delicate skin and I think it would be supremely painful. I shave under my arms every day, that is normal. BTW kudos on being a guy that shaves under arm hair :) It is sooooo gross to see a guy with lots of hair there...

I think it so much nicer for a man to have smooth skin. Thank God for men like you. I wish mine would do that, one of these day he is going to wake up with no hair lol, j/k

but waxing would be better, it might hurt a little bit but it's much smoother, and it would last you longer.

Trust me, you do not want to wax your pits dude.
I like the effect though man, props to you!!! I wish more men would do this.
As far as how often to shave...depends from person to person, somewomen have to every day, myself, about 2 times per week.
Thank you...I hope you've started a trend with other guys.

waxing is so much better. guys get it done too! aint that big a deal, plus the hair grow back lighter and thinner, plus u stay clean for over 3 weeks instead of shaving every other day with itchy stubble....makin ur skin prone to razor bumps and ingrowns.

plus psychologically waxing feels so much better...knowing all those horrible ewwy follicles are out of ur skin....ahhh.....

Shaving is fine. We usually shave every 3 days or so depending on hair growth. I was with a guy that shaved his legs and under arms. I was cool with it. He used to wrestle.
