i am writing a book and i am at the part where i describe the main person. should it be a girl or woman? boy or man? black, white, tan? or should it be more on the lines of an animal? then what animal? can you help? who or what would you read about?

Don't let the reader tell dictate what you should write. You write what you feel. the story should tell you who/what your main charater should be. Always write about what you know, whats closest to you because thanit will be more honest. If you try to write a female character and you are male, for example, how can you express waht it's like to be a woman? connect with what you write. If it's real to you, it will be real to us. good luck xxx

I think you should let the reader create their own main character. You can't please everyone with what you think your main person should be. Each person could develop who they think a hero or villain is. If that doesn't work, then do whatever. Good luck!!
