Does anyone have any suggestions on getting it to clear up? I've kept it washed good, but haven't put any medicine or any other product on it to help get rid of it yet. I'd like to get it cleared up as much as I can by Thursday.

You cant make it clear up. Washing it will only irritate it. dont use soaps, and always use a warm moist cloth to geantly blot his face.

Its caused by latent hormones left from your body in his system, and his inability to produce and regulate his own hormones. As well as any hormones he gets via breast milk.

It clears up on its own in a few weeks or month, LEAVE IT ALONE. Picking, treating, washing.. all these things make it worse and cause life long scarring.

He became into merely a huge, hungry newborn. You will basically have to let it run its course. We are taking our 3 month old for his first pictures this Saturday because he had infant acne so bad. I would check with the photographer and they might be able to touch-up the photos for you at a additional cost.

Most likely the photographer will be able to take care of it with his computer technology. I wouldn't put anything on his face as he will most likely rub it and get it in his mouth, eyes, etc. Why not call the photographer and ask about it? They might be willing to give you another appointment date if that would work for you.

My son had the same problem. My doctor said not to wash it too much because it actually makes it worse. However, I found that by using Aveno Oatmeal Bodywash/Soap on his face once a day it cleared up rather quickly.

I wouldn't use any medication on a baby that young.

However most baby photographers have gone digital and they can remove the acne spots for you (sometimes they charge a small fee)

Usually a photography company will have special pens for photographs (even flesh toned). I'm sure you could just ask them to touch up the blemishes.. (They might charge u extra depending on the severity.)

Leave it alone.
Get the pix retouched if you want.
You don't want to put anything on baby's face.
