Yes, you can get pregnant while taking birth control pills. Frequently, it is because they have not been taken correctly. You must take the pills at the same time each day and never miss for them to be most effective. Another reason is if you are on certain kinds of medications, such as antibiotics, it will affect the pills ability to work correctly. But, even with taking the pill correctly and not being on any kind of medication, there is a small percentage of women who get pregnant anyway. I am one of those women. I had been taking birth control pills for 11 years and became pregnant when my older children were 18, 15, and 12. I never missed a pill nor was I sick and on any other kind of medication that would have affected the pill's effectiveness.

Yes, if you take antibiotics, use alcohol, or are overweight birth control is not effective. I should know I was on Depo and got pregnant. So be careful and be happy you haven't gotten pregnant. It works for many people, but if you are overweight it is like fertility pills. Also it says in the directions that if you drink alcohol or take prescription antibiotics it lowers the potency of the estrogen and you will very likely get pregnant if you are in the right ovulation time.

Yep. Happened to me twice, too. I took mine everyday, in the mornings, but sometimes the time I took it varied by an hour or so. My doctor said some women's bodies are more sensitive to fluctuations in the hormones, and the time is a bigger issue for some of us than others.

My second pregnancy, I was on the minipill for breastfeeding, then stopped and moved to the regular pill. Although I took it at the EXACT same time every day that time, I got pregnant in the first two weeks of the new pill. So, if you change pills, use double protection for at least two weeks. Wish my doctor had pointed that out to me... =)

Also- my mom got pregnant on the pill, as well. So, although people always look at me like, Sure you took it at the same time, I swear it's true. My husband brought it to me when he left for work every day, so we know we did it at the same time, and I still got pregnant. So at least he believes me. =)

Yes you can get pregnant, even if you've been taking the Pill and have been using it properly. The pill is not 100% effective, it's best to use two methods of contraception at the same time.

Yes, you can get pregnant while on the pill. Usually it is because the person did not take them properly. On some people though, it takes them several different brands of pills before they find one that is effective for them.

the pill is only 98% effective when taken by the right dosage (as monitored by a doctor) the same time every day without fail, and without missing a single pill for three months.

According to usage though (the way women actually take it and are perscribed it) its only 92% effective.

One in every 100 women who take the pill for a year will become pregnant.

You can if you don't take the pill correctly or you are unwell/sick during the month. It's not a 100% method to stop pregnancy so it's probably a good idea to use condoms as well, then it reduces the risk of getting a sti.

the pill ( same as any other contraception) is about 96% - 97% safe, but there is always the chance, it certainly not a gaurantee that you won't get pregnant
