Zodiac man, in the house. The best ever on Yahoo Answers...
The best is yet to come, folks. But anyway, who is the better
of these 2 rappers. LL or Jay-Z. Rumor has it that L got beef
with Jay, because of control issues, at Def Jam records. In
other words, I don't like you, so I am gonna do whatever I
can to stop you, from outshining me. Now we all know LL
has never lost a rap battle, and he never will. Jay-Z is a
great artist, don't get me wrong. But mentally he can't hang
with "The Goat'. He is way to witty, and fierce, a lyricist.
Have you heard the lyrics on his 2004 album, 'Definition" ?
Incredible. I think Jay is in for a rude awakening. I know it
I can feel it. LL's new album with 50 cent is gonna raise
bodies out of the ground, I promise you that. So who is
gonna win this hip hop battle for the ages. LL Cool J, or
the infamous Jay-Z ? Remember the Can-I-Bus saga ?

Hello, you idiots. Do you not remeber when
Jay got whipped by Nas, in 2001 ? I
mean a true lover of hip hop will eat this
man, in a rap battle. Some people have
a nitch when it comes to tough talking.
LL is one of em. Then there are some that
just um, talk. And try to be tough. So,
who is better, LL or JAY-Z ?

Jay-Z.

His music has more meaning, the guy has brains and he has released some classic albums.

I'm not even a hip hop fan but i like some of Jay-Z's music.

they both have very different styles when it comes to rapping so i cannot choose between the pair of them. LL cool j obviously has been in the hip hop game far longer than the jigga man himself, jay- z. LL's rap is more of the old skool, whilst jay- z is more gangsta rap. of course many would opt for jay z, but maybe that's more to do with the fact that he has been more successful in recent times, whilst LL releases a record once so often. his last outing was on the joint collaboration with jermaine depri and j-lo on control myself, which i personally think was okay but it wasn't great. jay z has recently retired from hip hop music, well that's what we've read and since the beginnings where he was hangin' out with foxy brown, his career has sky rocketed to the top. he has his own clothing range, owns rockafella records alongside damon dash and is in love with beyonce to name so far.

both are great in their own way- they are two totally different artists. i love both jay z and ll cool j!

I didn'ty grow up in the early ninteens when LL was aty his best, if you ask me they both have become slightly more commercialised (I mean whats up with some of LL's latest work
with J-Lo man "z-z-z-z-z")
& I would say that Jay is less nonsence, although he does sometime make stuff just to sell but...

Verdict: Jay

i think most people are saying Jay Z cos they dont know how long LL has been around or heard any of his early stuff you know Rock the Bells/Mama said knock you out
i never heard LL free style but i'm sure he'd take the title (even though i think Jay Z is great!)
