I'm interested in what other places are like and how people feel about their community - the people, the scenery and the facilities.

I live in Greenock on the southern shore mouth of the Clyde in Scotland, near Glasgow. In most respects, prefer it to where I was brought up. There are more facilities her (cinema, liesure complex, a mall, a 24 hr supermarket and quite a few touristy locations which we locals can benefit from) and the scenery (Particularly the Argyleshire hills across the Clyde) is beautiful.

Greenock has it's problems, but so di Ayrshire where I originated from( 30-40 miles south of Greenock). It's maybe more peaceful there, but there are fewer facilites and the scenery is not as nice.

I simply hate the place where I live. It's a very small village in northern Italy. It's in the middle of the mountains and even though these are said to be the most beautiful mountains in the world (the Dolomites),I really hate here. The weather is horrible and with long and cold winters,no job opportunities and that's why I'm unemployed, high level of drugs abuse and alcohol.I also lived in London for some time but there it was exactly the opposite.Overcrowded and stressful.I guess something half way is the right place.Fortunately I'm not so far away from Venice where I go when I'm down.By the way where are you?
