For example I love The Beatles and similar bands. My favorite kind of music, has been for a very long time. Even in high school I listened to "the oldies". If I wear for instance a "Beatles" shirt and older person several times would say"Oh, your too young to know them". Im 26 FYI. Id say Im not too young to know good music and Im sure they know of bands from before their time as well. They can be reall snotty about it too. Why? Like Im just pretending when I pop the CD in or wear the shirt. If I really thought "50 cent" was cool than Id wear HIS shirt, right? Not something I didnt like.

Girl, I am the exact same way! I'm 26 years old too, and I listen to old music all the time...I can't stand most of this music they have out today. I really like Journey, Chicago, Boston...stuff like that. But I love 70s music!!

My son is 18 and listens to the oldies music all the time. He likes the 70's and 80's stuff too! It's all in the musical taste of a person. I'm 52 and listen to nothing but heavy metal music, and classic rock and roll.

It is ok to like music of all eras and u can wear that shirt anytime. I went to see a band called Beatlejuice, a Beatles cover band, and there were people there from age 10 to 80.

I don't think you are too young at all. My son is 17 and he loves "the oldies". He listens to Elvis alot, as well as some of the others from that time, even the Beatles. He gets out his grandparents old vinyl albums and listens. I don't think it matters how old a person is; if you like something, listen to it. Who cares what others think. They are just too simple minded and should mind their own business!

I understand your frustration with things like this. I'm 22 and have alot of knowledge of such music. Just know that its really what you like.

Some people are elitest about their music and hate that what they like or have even loved for years is trendy and popular. I know its annoying when I see one of my students wearing a Bon Jovi shirt and I KNOW for a fact that they do not listen to Bon Jovi let alone know who he is..but I don't knag them about it, I don't need the satisfaction of knowing that i am some how better or cooler because I do know and they are mearly wearing a tshirt for fashion.

So for as long as vintage rock shirts are fashionable I'd say get used to the critisim, maybe be a smart alec and say, yeah your right I don't know who they are or just walk of with the satisfaction of knowing how iggnorant they look and how cool you truley are for actually enjoying the band and not just being a victim of fashion.
