usually yes. Depending on the procedure, there really shouldnt be excessive heavy bleeding, sine most abortions include a d&C

Every woman is different, but there will probably be a few days of bleeding after the abortion -- it should taper off like a period does. If you want more information about after-care call 1-800-772-9100 and they can help you.

I'm sorry so many people here have slammed you -- they have no right to. However, next time you have an abortion question you might not want to post in the Trying To Conceive section of YA.

My goodness...the opinions of some people on here are just awful! It is your right, and it is your business only. Don't let them get to you....they should have been aborted! Now, to answer your question, yes. There is usually a few days of bleeding afterwards. Most of it is withdarawn by what is called a D&C but there is still some bleeding. It shouldn't be too heavy though and they will instruct you on what to look for with bleeding and what is not normal.
I do recommend considering some form of birth control though...An abortion is a very hard thing to do and I believe it takes a lot of courage and understanding to get through it. However, it should not be used as a form of birth control. Having one can cure a mistake...but any more than that is just irresponsible.
I wish you luck and just stay strong!

Yes, I didn't bleed for a few days, but than I bled for like 2 or 3 weeks straight. I makes sense though if you think about it. You bleed when you give birth.. I know a few girls that didn't bleed at all though... who knows maybe they were lying.

It depends on the procedure. If you had a D&C, the bleeding will be for a couple of days. The pill will be like a heavy period with clots. See your GP if there are any problems.

Don't feel guilty.

only the blood from your heart!

there are only two reasonable reason to have an abortion.

1 if having the baby will kill eithier the person having it or the baby itself ( dont risk it, you might die)

2. if it is rape, i understand this reason because whould you want to look at a child for the rest of its life knowing its dad did somthing like that?

if you think im wrong here i dont give a s**t , if you feel you have the right to an avbortion then you feel you have human rights?? well isnt an unborn child still human? still have rights? if you want an abortion you should never get pregnant, use protection!

yes. it is about four days of bleeding, and you will go threw the faze of throwing up. I have had an abortion and would recommend NOT doing it. I regret it very much and wish I would have learned more about it before it was to late. please look at this....

this site is of a ten week old fetus, the agerave age of an abortion. Most people think that a fetus at this age is just a bunch of cells, but it is not, the brain is actually functioning at this age.

PLEASE CONSIDER ADOPTION.
