Ok, here is the thing...blood pressure machines in stores are usually wrong...kids mess with them and people use them incorrectly...if you just smoked a cig, if you were talking, if you were watching the numbers, if you were holding your breath, if the cuff fits improperly, if you're taking cold meds, if you're about to start your period---all those things can make your pressure be high...

To answer about the numbers...139/87 is a tad high but your head is not going to explode; it is not even anything a doctor would even think about unless you are a pre-teen...if you are overweight and inactive...if high blood pressure is in your family...if you have other chronic health issues..

3 years ago, I was diagnosed - hypertension with a reading of 160/100. I used to feel dizzy a lot, my legs had awful cramps, and levels were very low in my potassium, causing my fingers and toes to always cramp together. One day I started to feel really faint while I was driving with my daughter in the back seat and I passed out, hitting 3 cars and ending up in a ditch. That moment,I knew I had to do something because my meds weren't working. I heard about this diet from a friend and thought I'd give it a shot. The results have been remarkable. In just 21 days, I honestly can't remember feeling this good, my blood pressure went from 175/110 to 125/70.

Normal is 120/80- 140/90. You are on the high side of that but still a normal range. Were you stressed when you took it? Had you eaten? I would just check it the next time I was in the store and would not worry about it for now; as it is still considered a normal reading... no need to rush to the doc.

Hi there !
The explanation that Blood Pressure is "age related " is an "old theory" !!
If you want to enjoy a "long life"
without "pressure related" complications, maintain your Blood pressure at around 120-130 systolic and 80-90 diastolic.
It can be done by :
1. salt restriction
2. exercises
3. Diet control
Start doing it today and the undergo the BP check once in a fort night !
Your BP reading is "okay", assuning that you would have gone to the store by "walking" !
Best time to check B.P is "morning time" when your mind is relaxed !
Best wishes !

Your blood pressure is high. When the bottom number get's to 90 or close to it, then there is need for alarm. You should go to your doctor to see if everything is ok. Sometimes those blood pressure systems at the drug stores aren't all that accurate, so if I were you I wouldn't get too worked up about it until you see your doctor.

Good Luck To You :)

no. you are fine. that is actually a good reading. there should have been a chart on the machine to tell you where you should be. but if you get above 170 (systolic) and below 60 (diastolic) then worry. but you are right where you need to be.

This is on the high side of normal, but you used one of those do it yourself jobbies at the drug store (not sure of the accuracy) Have your doctor take your blood pressure on your next visit.

Just a tad on the high side, U should start taking a low dose aspirine a day & that should lower it.

It is normal but on the high-normal side. Depends on your age, weight, ect. Just keep an eye on it from time to time.

120/80 is the normal reading - maybe you had just consumed something with caffeine? -
