Marketing is how you take a product or service "to market" - ie to the customer.
The 4 Ps of marketing are Price, Place, Promotion and Product.
These help you understand the "marketing mix" - ie
1) How much is this product going to be? £10? £100?
2) Where are you going to sell it? In supermarkets? Online? In the mall?
3) How are you going to let people know about your product? Posters? Leaflets? TV Ads? Letters? Emails?
4) What can you do the product itself? Fancy packaging? With a free gift?

There are several "marketing " methods.
"Marketing" is how items are sold.... whether a product or information.
Some examples; telemarketing, e- mail marketing, classified ad marketing, impulse marketing, signage, television ad marketing, and Internet marketing.

Marketing is like promotion- displays for merchandise, signs, etc.... how you plan to have it "in the market place".
