i was looking over the possible nominees 4 the academy awards and i got pronounced feeling of deja vu...i mean its 2005 all over again,martin scorsese's the departed(2 years ago it was the aviator) vs clint's flags of our fathers(million dollar baby)..........any thoughts?

I haven't seen his new film but Scorsese has kind of lost it. He hasn't made a truly great film since "GoodFellas" sixteen years ago. I had high hopes for "The Aviator". I was expecting a **** film but only gave it a weak ***. I think Marty's Oscar-chasing and trying to please the Academy. I think they're going to give him one soon. Could be next year.

Flags of our Fathers was a disapointment at best. I don't think it will get nominated for Best Film. I havent seen the departed yet.
