As much as I would like to tell you no, I have to say yes. We all know mental illness is a medical problem. You do have to inform your employer about your health issues . You also have to tell employers about any medications you take. If you fail to disclose these facts and you are hired by a company, you may be dismissed if they find out your medical history.

i'm not positive, but there may be laws under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) that can make things hard for companies that make it hard for you to work with a disability. mental illness is an illness as legitimate as if you were in a wheelchair from paralysis. if you are able to perform the tasks of your job, then i see no reason for a company that is run intelligently (meaning its management cares about being fined for infractions of the law) to rehire you, or to hire you.
you MIGHT want to take a federal job. they provide all sorts of ways for any type of disabled person to work within the federal government.
if you want to work in the private sector, civil rights' laws govern the way that companies treat those with disabilities. although limited, i think with a good labor lawyer, you can win a lawsuit for discrimination if it happens to you due to disability.
the link below does not only discuss federal jobs, but also provides you with tips for civil acts regarding working with disabilities.

In my experience, some companies have a problem with absolutely everything from you head to your shoes. I would not work for such a company for all of the tea in China. Other companies won't have a problem as long as your problem is under control.

i'd connect extra stigma to the habit than the ailment itself. If the ailment is treatable, and the guy is making an attempt to be treated, for this reason lowering the behavioral difficulty, then i'd appreciate the guy for following through. If the habit affected me negatively, i'd connect a stigma to the habit, and if the guy replaced into hateful to me, I 'd be tempted to stigmatize the ailment.
