Not at all. My daughter walked when she was 10 months old my son on the other hand didn't walk till he was 14 months old. all children develop differently. Some might catch on fast as others will take there time so to speak. Doctors and child development books say they all should be walking by age 15 months but I as a early childhood teacher have had children in my class who didn't start walking until age 2. I say give him some more time. If he isn't walking in another 5 months and this still concerns you then talk to the pediatrician. Enjoy it while you can because once they start walking it's no stopping them then. Hope this helps.

Walking is a milestone that all babies reach at an age that's right for them. Some get up and get moving at 9 months and some take their sweet time and are 16 months before taking off. I have 4 children of my own. 1 walked at 10 months, 1 walked at 15 months, 2 walked at 12 months. I have also done daycare in my home for 20 years and have seen the gamut of ages for walking. If your grandson is standing on his own, he is on his way to walking. He most likely prefers crawling as he is used to that and he can get places much faster than walking. He'll walk when he is ready. It does not sound as though you have a cause for concern at this time.

Anywhere from 10-16 months. Sounds like your grandson is getting close! My son did the same... he was walking 2 weeks before his first b-day. Try walking with him-holding his hands... our son LOVED that... and when he began on his own, he would always have to hold something- like a toy in his hand when he walked- I think it actually helped with his balance at first! So don't worry, he will be walking in no time! Our son too would sit down and crawl as well. They figure it out- it's so neat to watch them develop and learn!

no worrie, most kids do it when they want to. Mabey after 1 1/2 then there is a need to worrie. My step daughter is turning one on the 17th and she started walking about three weeks ago. But my two girls started at 10 months and 11 months. But every baby is different. If he is standing on his own, then sitting, then everything is fine. he will muster up some guts and take a run for it. just keep watching, and stop bothering him about it. congrats.

12 months is the average age. My daughter was walkin, running at 10 months while my son was just shy of his 1st birthday. A friends daughter just started and she's 14 months. If the baby gets time to practice he/she may just belazy. Crawling is faster. I think if theyre not walking at 16 months than there may be a problem. My neice and nephew twins were 18 months but they sat in their cribs all day.

no don't be worried, my son walked very early...about 9 months, but my daughter was real heavy as a baby and she didn't walk until she was almost 14 months, beacuse her legs weren't strong enough to hold her weight. Some children walk later than others. Hope this helps!

No, I wouldn't worry. Most kids will walk around a year, but if he is pulling up and standing alone I wouldn't worry. My oldest walked at 9 months, but my youngest didn't walk until about 13 months.

Babies could walk as early as 10 months some as late as 18 months, don't be worried. All children develop at their own pace. Also males are generally more slow developers than females. There are plenty of factors that could be taking placec such as perhaps he is concentrating on another task such as talking or listening to instructions..problem solving. Encourage him but do not push it, it will happen.

Don't worry unless his doctor says to worry at his age 1 checkup.
In my experience, some kids wait a bit later and then go right to walking and skip the "cruising" stage of taking two steps while holding on to something.
