You can to a point plug one to another back and forth. The problem lies in the fact that after so many times, it forgets that there was a KB or a mouse and will nto work forcng a reboot. A better solution is to use what is called a KVM switch which apopropriately stands for Kyeboard Video Mouse Switch. It allows anywhere from 2 to 16 machines per one KB or Mouse. Of course the number of systems depend on the KVM... Some KVMs ina server environ can actually be stacked so each 16 port KVM can in fact be plugged into another 16 port KVM giving that many more machines to one KB and mouse.

Another solution I use at home for this is a headless machine. Basically i install Real VNC onto the system and setup the server service to run, Then on any other machine I have I use Real VNC Viewer to log into the machine remotely and do what I need to do. This is great for doing simple thing and not for graphics work though... Graphics or game design is best for KVM.

Yes, It is possible. By using KVM switches. KVM switch is used to use many computers at a time with one monitor, one key board and one mouse . You can just switch between those computers and run your work while the other computers also working.

Yes it is possible. Get a KVM switch which can range from $15 on up. You just connect from the computers to the switch and you connect the keyboard, mouse and monitor to the KVM.
