Personally i would get a nintendo DS. The PSP is just the same as a PS2 but portable. Fair enough you can download music tracks on it and play dvds but i hate the fact that you have to buy special DVDs especially for the PSP which would cost so much money all together. The DS has so much game variety and is so much fun, it's different, it's new. PSP seems like a waste of time and too much money. If you had a PS2 and had your favourite games on it, just think if you wanted to play them on a PSP you would have to buy the same games over again because the discs are so much smaller. The Nintendo DS will not let you down. DS is cheaper too.

tough question, but the most important thing to remember is that both of them represent good value for money. Both are excellent and do very different things. The games are superb on the PSP, as is the power to watch movies, or downloaded TV, and web surfing. However, the DS has some great gameplay, being a little more interactive with it's touch-screen, and has some classic titles only available on Nintendo - Bomberman, Mario, Zelda etc. If you can afford them both, get them both - you'll find yourself using both for different things, and you'll love each as much as the other. They're both worth the investment!

Personaly i'd go with the DS (I'v owed one since the day they came out!)
If you prefer to play games that look and sound good, go for the PSP. If you like games that have an origonal factor, go for the DS.
TIP: look at the sort of games you get on both consols, and think about what games you like playing.
