Because, when you give a person what they want rather then what they need they become jaded and disillusioned. Too much
freedom and liberty is far worse then not enough.
The young need structure not liberty. They need guidence not freedom.
A good example, albeit negative, is what happened at Columbine school. Thise boy had unlimited liberty and freedom and look
what they did with it.

In general, youths want liberation and freedom. They don't know what from, but there must be something because they feel held down and held back from some sort of life. When they get to feel that freedom that they so desperately wanted they begin to realize that they really don't have anything to go for. No point to really live beyond existing.

I'm apart of this developing spread of youth culture here in america. Observing the way freedom is used in an exploitative means as to justify the ends is not the freedom truly believe in. I want to be happy but we're all so well hidden from recognizing the fragility of existence sometimes...

All human life has to have meaning or some goal to attain to make it seam worthwhile , if everything is provided without effort life can soon loses its gloss , or if to many unattainable prizes are promised and are not obtainable unhappiness is the result . we teach all our children today that the world is there oyster when in fact unless they are very rich or born into riches or they manage to fall lucky enough to have a very well payed job they are never going to reach the promised end of the rainbow

because they are led to believe that is what they will get and when they get to that age they usually find it isn't as easy as all that, they gain new responsibilities and maybe have to get part time jobs to earn money to support their hobbies and interests. Of course they still feel young and imagine they are missing out a lot on their social lives and not seeing their friends as much or having as much of a good time as they would want. Its about getting to know yourself and where you fit in this world and desperately wanting to belong. When you get older you don't care as much about what other people think of you or impressing your friends etc, because you know that they have issues of their own and if they are weird with you, its just they are under a lot of everyday pressure too.

Because freedom and liberation don't give everything : there ain't love, help and all those needs that you need to grow. You know, lots of people choose to stay quiet when someone asks them things especially teenagers. Freedom could be useful here if they were able to say what they want to say without being criticized or being told to shut up just because what they say please no one...

I think people have too many choices. I know I do and this makes me unhappy. Eg. If I take a multi-pack of fruit teas to work, I end up drinking water because I can't decide which flavour I want. If I only take one flavour (e.g. Lemon and Ginger), I'm more likely to drink it and enjoy it. I think this applies to other areas of life beyond drink choice.

Because for that you need money. Also, in this country is not enough to be young and free, you also have to be thing, rich, excellent skin, popular, talented, excellent vision, perfect theet, brand new car, etc., etc.,
At that age is rare the person who has the maturity and confidence to love and acept him/herself as they are and decide to be happy. Hapiness is a concious decision, hard but possible.

Too much freedom is as bad as too little. We need some structure in our lives, and more than that, we need self-discipline and motivation to actually get out there and make the things that would make us happy happen. Aimlessness and drifting with no purpose is depressing.
