Yah I have said this before, but it fits here too. Some of them just woke up, give them time to check Fox News, whip out the republican party line handbook, maybe check a few blogs and biased websites, then they will tell you what they think.
Be patient, as people incapable of forming their own opinion you have to be patient with them and eventually they will tell you what they "think"

As a Conservative I will tell you the truth. Better than what the news media have reported and worse than the bush administration would have you believe. The truth is most of the good things in Iraq get very little exposure

The Kurdish areas of Iraq are thriving with minimal insergent activity
There are schools, Hospitals and universities being built or rebuilt
Large percentages of the population support the efforts of the troops in policeing neiborhoods and rebuilding civil infrastructure.
The communications infrastructure of TV Radio and Telephone irtually destroyed in the war has been compleatly restored. The Iraqi ecomomy is actually growing and has a relatively healthy fledgling stock market.

The bad The Elected goverment is somewhat paralyzed by religious strife and failure to cut tribal and ethnic ties in the name of good government. The Shia-Sunni Strife gets stoked on a dailey bases because the government fails to control and disarm the repective militia's. The oil production infrastructure and electrical system have not been restored to sufficient levels exacerbating the the populations discontent and promoting civil strife.
I have by no means covered all the good and bad but my point is on the good side how many of you have seen these reported on a dailey basis. My God people no war of any significant duration in history could withstand the constant negative barage of our modern 24hr news cycle and maintain popular support for very long. Is this some left wing conspiracy on the part of the left leaning media? NO I think not the modern newsrooms focus on the negative in most aspects of their reporting on the local, state, national and international level. Just turn on any local or network half hour news programm you will see volumes of Robbery's, Kidnappings, Police chases, political corruption, etc and maybe one little positive public interest piece about Mrs Jones's Soup kitchen's 20th yr of serving the homeless on thanksgiving.. Why does this happen because thats what gets viewers it is a sad comentary on our society and a disservice to our country

Why bother asking this question again? The narrow minded like stephanie stereotype all conservatives together - that is some of the problem with asking for dialog and get rhetoric.

I believe Iraq had WMDs - not because Bush said so but because my son who was in Iraq fully believes it. You can't announce to the world that next week you are invading a country and not expect them to prepare. In the end Saddam won - he made the US look like an idiot to the world and turned the country upon itself and we the American people let him.
Do we believe the troops or the media? The media is the big winner in that equation because anything the troops found was either too small or too old . Funny in a sad way.
You can hide a full size fighter jet under the sand in Iraq and unless you know exactly where to look it will never be found. Why not WMDs or anything else?

Libya hide chemical weapons for years and unless they had told the US where the barrels and weapons were they would of stayed buried until doomsday under the sand. But they wanted sanctions lifted and to make money with worrying about being next on the list. So it was a win/win situation for them.

Yes I am a conservative , I don't follow a party handbook or check with anyone else on how to life my life. I do live my life following my conscience expecting to have my rights protected as I have protected others rights in the past. Not a lot to ask in a free society.

We have done not as well as I hoped and America installed a new group of Democrats to add a fresh perspective to the mess.

THAT is why not a lot of conservatives answered.
