I will not tell my spouse what to do and I refuse to tell my spouse to cut her loose. Never.
So maybe it just doesn't work and we could go our seperate ways, now.

You're married to the spouse, not the Mother In Law. Tell your husband how you feel.

Honey, if everyone divorced due to a meddling mother-in-law, then there would be no such thing as marriage! It doesn't have to be one extreme or the other; you don't have to tell him/her what to do. Just point out (gently) the things that his/her mother is interfering in. Marriage takes work, you don't just leave at the first sign of trouble. And didn't you already know what her mother was going to be like BEFORE you married him/her?

i agree with whoever said "you married your spouse not the in law" ...its so true. what do you love about your significant other.....hopefully anough o get past there parents. maybe you should talk it through with your spoause and set some ground rules for when your inlaws can visit and maybe even make like a "date night" where you dont answer the phone check email or talk to any one other the eact other
