I don't want to use PayPal or such services. How do others handle overseas payments and is there an international bank account system?

First, you can have them FEDEX Postal Money orders for payments, which would be smart and safe, and trackable in all instances... if you don't like this, then -

Second, Contact your bank that you have existing, ask them about a seperate account to recieve offshore payments. This ensures no interferrance from anyone on your existing account, thus recieving total privacy in case anything shady occurs. You can also inquire about a business account which might cost you slightly to accept credit card payments and to set up a business structure, but will be less of a percentage than Paypal payments, although Paypal payments are insured and guaranteed.

It really ends up being how muchinformation you are comfortable giving to someone who contracts you for service or if you feel good about wire transfers. Worse comes to worse there's always WESTERN UNION :)

Good luck

You can make them render the payment before you send them your work or put the work on line and put a block on it so it can't be printed until you recieve your payment, or do like the other person above said and open an off shore account.
