Taking a prenatal vitamin won't help you gain weight. If you want to gain more weight, try adding an extra healthy meal or two to your diet. You can also drink a meal replacement with your meals, such as Ensure. They have all the calories and nutrients as a meal. This is what we do when a patient needs to gain weight. If you're concerned about not getting enough vitamins, just take a regular vitamin supplement, not a prenatal one although a prenatal one won't hurt you. If you're planning on becoming pregnant, it's a good time to start the prenatal vitamin now to be sure you have enough folic acid for the baby.

Still, one more answer to read... Yes, you can take a prenatal even if you're not pregnant. No, it won't help you gain any weight. It WILL however, make your urine a little more expensive. Whatever you take in has to either be used, stored or filtered out. And, if you're already eating a good, nutricious and healthy diet, you won't need anything extra that a prenatal would provide. If you want to gain weight, carb up and then go to the gym. Otherwise, give it time. As you grow older and more sedate, you will put on the weight whether you want it or not.

Prenatal vitamins are great to take even if you're not pregnant, but I doubt very much they make you gain weight.

You can gain weight by drinking Ensure - those Nestle Instant Breakfast shakes are also good ways to put on weight - I've been worried because I haven't been able to eat a lot because of food aversions (I'm 14 weeks) and the Nestle shakes have REALLY helped....eat more, as well - but just be sure and eat smart. Lots of healthy stuff - nuts, peanut butter, milk, cheese, whole grain, etc - and don't forget the fruits and veggies as well!!

Prenatal vitamins don't make you gain weight - pregnancy does! The vitamins are okay to take even if you're not pregnant, though. They'll make your nails grow longer and your hair will be thicker, but you won't gain weight from it.

Prenatal vitamins won't help you gain weight. However, it will provide you with all of your daily vitamin needs. Plus some! For someone who is not pregnant though...a one a day womens vitamin would work just the same.

You can but this will not help you gain weight. Eat a lot of foods with protien in them. This way when you gaiin wieght, it will be healthy wiehgt instead of fatty wiehgt from eating junk food and things like that. Go to GNC and tell someone what you are looking for and they can give you something to help you gain weight constructively. :o)

Prenatal vitamins are good for all women of childbearing age. I don't think they will help you to gain weight, but they will be good for your overall health. You can buy them over the counter without a prescription.
