I thought maybe a nice ham, Sweet potatoes for sweet potatoe pie, maybe some green beans, a small Turkey to smoke, some stuffing mix. No presents though, see for twenty years I made at least one present for one person on my list. Turns out that they were the most appreciated gift. Now I only give out gifts that I have made with love and my own two hands. When it comes to commercial gifting we try to save that for the angel tree and other charities throughout the year.

Here is my gift to you :

What would you like for Christmas
Is what they asked of me
and as I thought I soon discovered
there is nothing that I need.

And so I answered with this rhyme
that somehow came to me
I only hope that it comes close
to the real ones memory

A lonely man called upon the Lord
said God how I love and believe in thee.
And if you will, take my request
Please come and dine with me
See others say you don’t exist
and that my faith be wrong
Then with that he prepared a feast
and passed his chores with song
There came the hour for which he toiled
And a soft knock upon his door
His heart beat loudly as he opened it
To a child lost and poor
So he washed the child and calmed his fears
Gave him food and dried his tears
He hoped that God would wait
Until he’d led that child home
Once home again he waited
And a knock soon came again
There a stranger weary from the road
Stood in front of him
Well, there is plenty here please take your fill
And a bit more for your sack
I await a special guest tonight
Pray my manners do not lack
Still later with his hope near gone
A knock upon his door
An ancient woman, skin and bone
Not who he waited for
No harm, you see it’s grown to late
I’m afraid I’ve missed my guest
I’ll fill your cup and set your plate
And a place for you to rest
He then knelt down and said a prayer
I’m sorry Lord, you see
I set a feast, but you did not come
Have you found fault with me
The Lord he answered softly
Oh my child do you not see
I did not come just once tonight
My visits with you count three.

Have finished shopping for all, actually did most of it the day after Christmas last year started wrapping today. The only thing left on my list is baking goods to give friends containers of candy

Most of my Christmas shopping is done except for a few odds and ends. Only 41 days left.

Nothing now, my Christmas shopping is over with. I just finished wrapping everything up and putting it in the attic so no one see anything.
