People will always need a place to live, and land is getting scarce. Buildable lots are in short supply, and houses are being torn down to make room for new duplexes.

Another thing- you can live in a house, but try to live in a mutual fund!

If you want to invest in the stock market, I really like wind energy and renewable fuels. The safest way to invest in wind energy is Florida Power and Light, symbol FPL. For biofuels, I like Archer Daniels Midland, ADM. Here is an article on wind energy stocks.
