Of course there is! I've already answered a few questions like yours. I have come across an alien-- actually a few. The ones I met were extremely bright and intelligent. They have a different way of revealing themselves, than what we might imagine. We always think of movies and expect to see this "thing" in front of us, but the friends I met were very kind and very subtle in their approach. I wasn't afraid of them at all. We tend to heavily rely on what science calls the "five senses". They, however, use different energy patterns to travel and communicate. Sometimes, however, they show us their brilliance by revealing their beautiful lights at night--kinda like fireflies showing off in the night. Other times they are invisible and you just kind of "sense" them around. There is so much hype about them even after they've been here for eons. Seems the ancient folks were drawing their crafts in the caves millions of years ago. What I learned from them was that we have many good helpers watching us and protecting us. I felt enormous compassion from them. I really missed them when I no longer felt connected closely to them. I've been answering questions like yours just because I like folks to know that we have a lot of help here. There is so much fear about the planet's doom. The message I received from my "alien" friends was one of hope and joy. There's still work that needs to be done here, but we really and truly are being joined by a lot of planetary helpers. I have no doubt about what I experienced as being true. I was under no influence of drugs or hallucinogens. I was just asking God for a better way to live. I was also asking for some hope for my own life and purpose. I was given an incredible answer by some incredible beings. I always like to share my experience whether people believe me or not. So, thanks for your question. Perhaps some day you too will meet an "alien."
Also, I am told that at one point there were some very destructive forces that came here to cause chaos. Those influences are currently exiting this plane. Yeah!

The chances that earth is the only planet that harbours life in the universe is extremely unlikely.
Our intellectual ability has advanced us so much but yet we still have a long way to go before we can actually set sail from Earth and reach other planets in our solar system, and even go beyond
There may be other intellectual life out there(on planets that contain possible traces of water) but due to the vast distances between objects in the universe they may be having the same problems as we are.
They may be on the way to Earth...they may land in your back garden in the middle of the night whilst you are sleeping. They might be already on earth, just to small to be seen by the naked eye.
Who knows, until we can actually see an alien and ask him "How you doing?" we will never find out...
But if there is life out there, aren't we the aliens to them?

There is intelligent life in the solar system: Humanity.
No one has ever found a living sample of life that is known to have originated off the Earth. Some scientists feel that they have found traces of the effects of microoganisms inside meteorites that can be traced to Mars. Also there is some indirect evidence of life on Mars such as periodic variations in methane levels in the atmosphere. Lastly, some of the results from the life detecting experiments on the Viking mars landers were positive, but not all of them. Carl Sagan felt that the Viking evidence was promissing.
Another place that could support life is the oceans of Europa. Europa is a large moon of Jupiter that has a liquid water ocean under a thick layer of ice. Tidal forces heat Europa enough that the water is kept liquid. We know that on Earth there is life that feeds on sulfer compounds coming out of volcanic vents on the ocean floor. This kind of life could probably live on Europa. This will certainly be a question that future space missions will be sent to investigate.

Imagine as I do that the possibility of there being intelligent life on other planets is very high indeed (although not in our solar system). For them we are aliens. Look at yourself and you are looking at an alien - somebody/something else's alien - makes you think.

There is no other intelligent life in our solar system, although simple microorganisms could exist on Mars and Europa.
In the universe? High probability of intelligent life, given that scientists estimate no less than 500,000 planets similar to Earth. But there are millions of solar systems in the universe, most of them millions of light years away, so lots of luck trying to pinpoint where those lifeforms might be.

Intelligence may have existed on Earth at some point in the past, but an intelligent alien would certainly be shocked to hear people apply that adjective to themselves. Having said that, we could all be aliens, if the seeds of life arrived on Earth from elsewhere in the universe.

Some say there is intelligent life on Earth. Others dispute that claim. A significant percentage of the population of the United States consists of aliens. A significant percentage of those are here illegally.

The only aliens I know of are those to be found on this site with their weird sense of humour. However, when I visit ancient sites in places like Italy and Greece I sometimes wonder how those people managed to build their beautiful buildings etc. without modern tools - perhaps they had help from their Gods who were really aliens?

Who knows, we are still looking for intelligent life on this planet :) personally i dont believe there is, all jokes aside. I think there could be microbial life for example on europa. This is a moon of jupiter which is covered in ice and what scientists believe (im a marine scientist) is that there could be a liquid ocean under neath the ice layer. When we look at our own oceans it doesnt matter where we have been and at what depth we have found life.

Intelligent life? In our solar system? Nah, I can't see any evidence for it! I mean, look at Yahoo answers!
