I look forward to a family gathering this Christmas, as well as a break from work. I love the feeling of Christmas - the carol singers and the lights... and the feeling of Love that is around, even if you are not Christian. I agree that Jesus probably wasn't born on December 25th but the Christians wanted a day to celebrate a great teacher/guru/avatar/enlightened being who taught all about Love. So let them, I say.
The commercialism is a bit "off" when they put lights up in shops in October and November but I love the kids faces when they see Santa or a grotto or snow and all the amazing lights everywhere. I truly think we should make more of other religious festivals and celebrations - especially Diwali. There were a lot of wise, enlightened beings who deserve a mention: Buddha, Mohammed, Baha'u'llah, Moses, Zoroaster, Lao Tzu, to mention but a few. Christmas is not the only time to celebrate.
However, the spirit of Love is what counts and Christmas is an ideal time to show people that you Love and care for them. If you have no family or friends to celebrate with, why not do some charity work this Christmas and visit an old people's home or help in one of the homeless shelters?
I trust that you are loooking forward to Christmas... and the rest of your life, with Love and happiness.

I am very excited about the festive period. Looking forward to having some time off work, spending some time with my family and my friends, indulging in a little bit more food and drink than usual, giving and getting some lovely presents and generally just relaxing for a week.

I have mixed feelings about Christmas, my ex left me at Christmas with three small children and no money, luckily I had anticipated this and ordered loads of things from the catalogue for the children in his name and so he ended up paying for them. He left me for another woman with one child (not his).
I went round to family over Christmas it was nice. I lost a baby just before Christmas as well a couple of years earlier.
My good memories are of watching my children open presents and eating my Christmas dinner which my ex said I couldn't cook so he did it.
Now two of my children are old enough to take to the pub so enough said I think.

I'm really looking forward to Christmas. I love decorating for Christmas. I love seeing all my family and spending time with them. I love all the great food everyone fixes. I love the Christmas music and driving around at night to see Christmas lights. Christmas is my favorite time of year. I love celebrating God's gift of love--Jesus--at Christmas. I'm really looking forward to Christmas Day this year because it will be my 7th wedding anniversary. My husband and I have had a very difficult year, and I am thankful that we are still together to celebrate another year of marriage.
The funniest thing that happened to me at Christmas was getting 3 hot pots as gifts one year. I was in college and every time I talked to my family, I told them I really needed a hot pot. So everybody got me one for Christmas.

Christmas is one of the funniest holidays of the year- everyone running around, shopping their wallets away, buying expensive stuff, giving out presents and expecting to receive stuff in return.
i'm looking forward to christmas because of what it really means- celeberating the birth of redemption. Christmas is the time of year that reminds me of who i am- a servant, and what i'm here to do-take hope to those who believe that hope is dead. Knowing that, i'm able to put my best into every form of training that i'm undergoing right now, because i know it is for an ultimate goal; to be a voice of hope, bringing Christmas to people's lives.
An understanding of my response can be gotten from the story of Scrooge in the all-time classic story " A Christmas Carol ".

I am looking forward to it because I want it to be over with. One of the funniest things that has happened to me is I forgot to thaw the turkey. We had a sears clothes dyer at the time and it had a stop dry cycle on it. And a rack to put in and lay things you didn't want to tumble. You guessed it. I wrapped the turkey in a wet bath towel and turned the dryer on. Dinner was a little late that year.

I like Christmas because its nice having all the family round, and I like giving gifts to my family and seeing their faces when they open them.
The funniest thing that happened to me is when I was much younger and my mum cooked this big dinner for all the family and she (typically) didn't leave enough for herself and I knocked her glass of wine into it. I thought it was funny, but she didn't!
