First start by looking at one.
Then think about what the individual pieces look like, and what waste materials could replace them.

Waste materials such as...??? Maybe you could find sticks, some rocks to use as a foundation, a cardboard box to use as the ground. How big does this bridge need to be. This is a tough one without any further info. I would make a short list of what you have to work with, then go from there. Good luck. If you get a list of materials you have, email me and I will try to help.

YEP PAPER TOWEL ROLLES PRINGLE CANS and COKE BOTTLE 2 LITER AND NOTEBOOK WIRE
AND GLUE if allowed but not nessary
CUT THE TOP AND BOTTOM OFF THE COKE BOTTLE MAKE SURE ITS THE EXACT SIZE FOR THE PRINGLE CANS THESE WILL BE YOUR RAMPS TAKE PAPER TOWEL ROLLS AND GLUE THEM TO THE BOTTLE SO THEY SUPPORT IT

OR RAP THE ROLLS TO THE BOTTLE BY RUNNING THEM CROSS WAYS AND RUNNING THE NOTEBOOK WIRE THROUGH ROLLS AND AROUND THE COKE BOTTLE DO THIS 2X ONE ONE EACH SIDE SO IT IS LIKE A =sign with a line through it with the coke bottle on top

paper towel rolls on bottom for support run the pringles cans at the ends of the coke bottles for ramps weigh them at the end so they touch the ground and for the finishing touch find some little army guys and put them in the bottle so everyone can see them crossing you got a thumbs up from me cause i like this stuff

if you don't like this idea email what you want more detailed i can make it a work of art or as simple as you want

if you email me i can tell you how to make c4 out if gum jello rum and a microwave i thought mcgyver everything he knows

For a surface, what about recycled tires? The rubber would be comfortable to walk on, as it would give a little bit under the pedestrian's feet, and it would be putting good use to all those discarded tires.

For the support structure, I'm not sure on that.

well this may be kind of nasty but you can use a sanitary napkin( UNUSED) as the bridge. And maybe dental floss to hold it up....i dunno...sorry
