I am a stay at home mother of one ( 4months old) and I was nterested in becoming an avon rep. I went to the website but they dont say how much a strat up fee is etc...I dont want to be contacted by a rep just yet i just want to know from someone who does it what all is involved. Do youhave to meet certain sales limits each month, how much does it cost me from my personal money, how much time do you typically devote to it, is it worth it, can u really make money.
My neigbors daughter is a rep so if i decide to start I can talk to her maybe.

My mom helped me start selling avon when I was 15. You can start under someone like your neighbor and sell under them. You make a certain percentage of what you sell every 2 weeks. You don't have to meet certain requirements, sometimes you may have a really slow month others you may have lots of orders so you don't have to reach certain limits. It depends how deep you want to get into to how much out of pocket money you spend. You have to purchase your sales books (which come in sets of 10), reciept book, and bags. But there are other things like samples and organizational binders and such that aren't mandatory, but could be nice to have. The time you put into it is your own judgement. Do you want to go out and sell and place books in businesses or take them to neighbors and such, then going and picking up orders, then once the order comes in delivering. It depends on how much you want to sell as to how much time is in it. If you really get out and do it like full time, then you can make pretty good on it. I was just doing it for a little extra money and didn't do to well, but then I wasn't pushing sells or anything like that. It's really what you make of it.

I've sold Avon for a year and a half now and I'm just getting ready to give it up. It only costs $10 to start and that will get you your first set of books and some samples. It's an okay business, I never made any money w/ it but I just like makeup, so it was fun for a while!
