1. you are going to have to work in such a manner that your husband and child are doing fine while you work. if that requires that your future company provide child care services on site and that your husband does household chores with you and cooks for you if you work late, then you have got to define these items first, before you take another job. btw, this is real interesting: per current surveys regarding the sexiest times between a married couple, married people say that when they do, of all things, HOUSEWORK together, they are most likely to end up in bed!!!
2. i always say that people should do what they honestly LIKE to do rather than go after a career in a topic that they do not like. you will automatically feel successful, since success is not only measured in the money you make: personal satisfaction is success in and of itself. and too, sometimes even professions that are not known generally as money makers are in fact so, for the best of the best or most popular, such as fine artists and musicians. the point is to DO WHAT YOU LOVE.
3. if you are most happy working with people, then take a job working with people. if you make customers/clients happy by being happy with and toward them, you will be a high asset in any job that requires customer service.
4. here is a good customer-oriented job: selling real estate. however, do realize that (a) you are paid only when you close a sale, and your expenses are not paid by anyone other than you; (b) you MUST REALLY LIKE working with people to be successful in this line of work; (c) you can work the field part-time, but soon, if you are making commissions, you will most likely work it full time. that usually requires, at least for a couple of years as you build up your clientelle, 7-day work weeks. this is a difficult and stressful occupation, so if you have no patience, it is not for you. -- yet, you say you love people. in that way, it is good for you.
5. nurses are the most popular and beloved people on any floor of any hospital. that is because they spend the most time with the patient, and really generally show care for him. that makes people that are suffering from pain feel good, it makes them feel human.
6. if you become a registered nurse and work in a hospital setting, you will be able to pick and choose which type of nursing you want to do. you can be a nursing administrator, a surgical nurse, a nurse that works with infants, etc. you will end up making very good money, but only if you are a registered nurse, not a nursing assistant.
7. if you think you wish to teach, you should ask a school if they need a teaching volunteer to work with any of the teachers. you should try to help out in all grade groups. handling many children with many personalities is not easy. in addition, teachers now have many weeks and months for school breaks, but we may very well see 12-month school years soon. if you do not want to earn the same pay for working 12 months without school vacations, then don't go into it.

go to a career councilor and they can give you some test to see where your interest lay, what skills you have, and what career your interest and skills would be most effective at and also what classes you need to take to prepare for that job.
Good luck.
