Land purchases (like pretty much any purchase) are under provincial jurisdiction in Canada (unless it is aboriginal land). Provincial websites (e.g. http://www.gov.bc.ca/bvprd/bc/home.do, http://www.gov.on.ca/, etc.) may have some basic information.
If you're in Ontario, I know the e-Laws website (http://www.e-laws.gov.on.ca/) lists all provincial statutes. Depending on the nature of your question, you might want to have a look at the Land Titles Act, the Land Registration Reform Act, Land Transfer Tax Act, the Statute of Frauds (which notes that real estate transactions must be written), Real Property Limitations Act, etc.
In other provinces, the statutes will probably be named similarly, but they won't be identical.
You might be better off contacting a real estate agent or a real estate lawyer. It pretty much depends on what it is that you want to know.
