i mean why we use harddisk
why we cannot use usb 1 gb which is smaller than harddisk.

But there are many limitations. However Linux runs very well from a USB drive:

Who says that? I knew that a USB could be used just like a local drive...

You need to go to BIOS and set your USB 1GB to be the boot disk first.
