Why, because the leader of the BNP was acquitted in court of racial hatred are the government considering a change of law? What the hell is going on in this country? This man was tried in a court of law and was found NOT GUILTY - end of. Why are islamic zealots permitted to scream their hatred for non muslims, order the killing of anybody who speaks out against islam and burn effigies in the street and the authorities do nothing for fear of offending them!
It seems that if our justice system does not deliver the verdict the government wants then they will just change the law to fit.

Political correctness is wrong - and will be the cause of much hardship and unrest in this country in the coming years.

Changing the law to suit the needs of the government is also wrong - but has been done for years and years by successive governments with large majorities.

I think it's about time we had a new political movement in this country - we just need to build up some momentum!!

Care to join me???

Agree with all of the above, though the extremist muslims were calling for the death of those who parody their god, rather than a specific race or religion. They should still be hauled up before the courts and sent down if found guilty.

Just a quick mention to derbyAndrew. There was a case of an extremist muslim, of Jamaican descent, who also stated his vile opinions in an small room, full of his followers. The room was bugged by the police (Unlike Nick Griffin's speech, which was picked up by the BBC) For this he was convicted of incitement to murder and sent down for around 7 years. He has since been deported back to Jamaica, where the authorities are less than pleased by their commonweath allies alacrity in dumping their problem on to someone else.

So far from the courts being politically correct, they've done both human rights and the country in general a favour by getting rid of this zealot. Though there's a argument to say that, rather like Abu Hamza, his followers may view this as some kind of martyrdom, which makes him markedly different to Nick Griffin who is falling over himself to project his party as a democratic and lawful movement, despite their being unable to ecsape links with far right terrorism.

in the united kingdom there is something regularly occurring because of the fact the regulation. The BNP, for some reason, look to think of it does not prepare to them. they additionally do not think of that standard politics ought to prepare to them, they have some experience that at a similar time as the main significant events ought to justify their rules, their strikes and each thing they do or do not do, the BNP must be loose to do even though it likes with out criticism. Take question time. each and all of the main significant political events have been on question time and that they have got had to justify themselves with questions from the objective industry. yet whilst this occurs to the BNP, they call it a stich up. So whilst it comprises the regulation, the BNP think of they might get around it, because of the fact, i assume, "whilst" they get into capability they are going to exchange the regulation. The BNP desire a bill of Rights, yet they additionally decide to do away with the way freedom of speech works. they don't comprehend that a appropriate is in no way endless, and that freedom of speech does not enable hate speech, however the BNP desire a bill of Rights that protects hate speech as a common area of their working coverage. however the main needed area of any democracy is that it could look after itself against attack. The Weimar Republic grew to become into not sturdy adequate to do this because of the fact it did not have a 5% or so shrink, which meant that many smaller events have been given in and govt grew to become into impossible to artwork effectively, so Hitler have been given in, and all of us comprehend what occurred then. the U. S. is the coolest opposite. The Civil conflict grew to become into fought, and Lincoln grew to become into if truth be told doing something incorrect, even though it saved the U. S. democratic equipment. making a regulation that forestalls political events being racist is a solid regulation, and all of us comprehend the BNP are racist!

Are Islamic zealots really allowed to get away with it? I take it you mean the anti-cartoon rally in London earlier this year. As far as I know, there have been several trials recently related to people arrested following that protest rally which saw the perpetrators convicted and the one that was dressed up as a suicide bomber was returned immediately to jail.

What is the government for if not to create laws that protect the citizens of this country from the bigoted views of a minority on whatever side of the political or religious spectrum they represent? In any case, it is not the government who make the laws but Parliament as each law requires a majority to pass it.

I agree to a certain extent with your comments regarding him being found not guilty but if laws which were found to be inadequate when tested were never to be changed, how would society itself progress? Due to advances in technology and the increased number of persons escaping justice through loopholes in the law, the Sexual Offences Act was amended last year to include things like grooming, internet porn, incitement to commit sexual acts amongst a whole heap of other things. This was changed as a direct response to the number of unsuccessful convictions in this arena. Should the government/Parliament not be able to change this law because someone was found not guilty?

I agree. He said what he said behind closed doors to like-minded individuals. There was no one there who could possibly have been offended. It was not racial hatred, it was having an opinion that was not shared by someone in authority.

Do we think that a radical Muslim would be put on trial if he was secretly recorded inside a Mosque giving an anti-western speech? Of course not. He would probably sue for invasion of privacy or hurt feelings thinly disguised as 'discrimination'. And he would probably win.

The whole thing is a disgrace - like you say Muslims can spew bile and vile insults at us Infidels, as well as hailing the 9-11 bombers as martyrs and nothing is done. A white British man gives his opinion in a closed forum and he faces gaol. Disgraceful.

Anyone who incites religeous hatred should be locked up - irrespective of whether they are Muslim, Christians or Jew and no matter what Country they are in. Freedom of Speech is used as an excuse. Its disgusting that we cannot live as civilised people without attacking each one's race/religeon. The BNP, Al Qaeda, IRA, Nazi etc etc are/were all the same - a threat to civilized nations and decent people who want to get on with life, whatever their excuses for their actions are.

Please post another question with answers to all these problems, i for one would really like to know what the solution is.

Bigots are all the same whether they are BNP morons or Al Qaeda morons. These evil cancers on our society feed off each other.

Every time the leaders of the BNP get some publicity, Al Qaeda gets a new bunch or recruits. We have locked up Abu Hamza. It's time we put the BNP in the same prison - and chucked away the key.
