I have an appointment for them to come to my apartment and I need a cleaning service, am just looking for some feedback on them, if they are reasonably priced dependable and all that.

I have a girl that comes in, not from ANY of the services, she comes while I am here and does all those things I need help with or don't want to do. I have tried cleaning services, they are expensive, you get who they send and half the time, they don't do what you want them to the way you want them to, and most only come when you aren't home (mainly so you don't know what they did do or didn't do, or how very little time they actually spent at your place and send you the big bill for. They can then run from house to house doing 5 houses in the time they would have to spend doing one if you were there to make them do this or that. UNREAL! I advertise in a free local online service for help (occassionally I have to get a new one or I need help in the yard) and I interview them thoroughly over the phone. Anyone who doesn't answer my questions, or is the least bit difficult, I just take their number or tell them I have someone in mind already, but I will keep them in mind if it doesn't work out. I NEVER tell them where I live until I know I am comfortable. I give them a general nearby area. But I ask them what they are capable of doing, Tell them what I expect. If its not for them, thats okay, I am not looking for 20 girls, am only looking for 1. I have a fairly flexible schedule and I make it the same for them, I prefer young mothers looking for a little extra cash, in between school and soccer practice or trying to catch a break from the little monsters at night. And I pay ABOVE minimum wage, so that I get good quality people who feel they are getting paid decently. One I had, had a newborn she brought with her. We put the baby in the living room and we could hear her anywhere in the house, but she usually slept through. It worked for quite sometime, and then they moved (boo hoo!). Another one comes in the evenings (she has a 3 yo who is quite a handful) and enjoys doing it for spending money at garage sales, even though her husband makes good money, she's said she just loves getting out of the house. Fancy that, to come clean for me? Well, she is sweet, and she is one of many I have come to trust implicitely. Just the same, I don't leave my purse out EVER, I never leave them alone in my bedroom or office, well, except her, but now I have had her for some time. Once in a while, they get sick, car breaks down and so forth. I don't get too worked up, as I have usually picked them well enough they make an effort when they know I have company coming or a party planned to be there for those events in particular. But just the same, I don't know if you're up for doing your own hiring, but I will tell you as one who worked for cleaning services (years and years ago) and one who has used them, I would save my money and do the hiring myself. Because if something goes missing, or gets broken, unless you have a tape, you don't have a snowballs chance anyways to recover. On the other hand, if you don't have anything substantial to worry about or lose and just need someone to come in and dust, mop, vaccum and do some dishes, you might find if more convient to pay the service to do it. I remember we had people whose places I would go to, where you could eat off the floor to begin with, but who wanted someone to whiz through once a week for basic cleaning. If thats you, then do it. Ask for a regular girl (one they have thats been with them for a while), and chances are they will come and go within 1-2 hours, depending on how big your place is. My place is big, so the cost would be prohibitive to me. I hope this helps you! Good luck!

They are ok , I actually used to work for them when i was younger. Its just like any other cleaning service, they do what the eyes can see, especiallly if you are not there. NO one comes to look things over after, and not to mention that they tell you that they are not on a time limit, but really they are cause the quicker they finish you they get to move on and get closer to going home early...LOL... I think that i know too much. ** I would reccomend looking in the newspaper ( i take it that you live in the GTA, so either the SUN, STar or even your community neighbourhood.) I actually do some cleaning on the side (in the nights though or weekends...iam a student) Good Luck !!!!!

Depends on what you are looking for. I get deep cleaning done in my house once a month. I have been using HomeJoy for this and I'm pretty satisfied with their service. The maids have good accountability and the rates are pretty low

They're too expensive. Maybe your apartment building has some cleaning crew who also sideline into apartment cleaning. Some of them are cheaper. The work is comparable. Or, try to get recommendations from neighbors or your apartment staff.

I use them and at first they told me the same thing-that they would only come if no one was home. I told them that I work nights and also that I would be home when they cleaned. They told me that it was against their policy to have anyone in the home while it was being cleaning. I informed them that it was against my policy to have people that I don't know in my home. They then told me that they could have a crew in my home while my dogs and I were home. I now have them routinely and I love it.

i had a friend at work that called them for an estimate and they were extremely expensive, and i agree that its odd that they will only come if no one is home... sneaky.
